Clinical perspective on: Is purely rational (human part of our brain) thinking the platform for our, contemporary homo sapiens, knowledge?

NB a draft – feedback is appreciated to bo.vonscheele@stressmedicin.se

(Swedish below)
Since we, none of us, have access to absolute knowledge (since the development of knowledge itself has not reached that level, which in can infer us rationally), but at the same time the human brain copes with non-absolute knowledge in a way that is in some respects effective, e.g. quantum physics/biology, …, we can ask ourselves how our brain evolved in the last c 300,000 years as superposition of, then several hundred million years of evolution, Limbic, spatial part of our brain, which is obviously not put on the back burner or run over by our very young evolutionary developed rational part of our brain that is also actively, committed to a great extent to the daily behavior of man?

Our knowledge of the evolution of our brain is utterly deficient, while we often have to make decisions in many areas including our daily actions, on more or less deficient knowledge, which requires not only caution, humility, but also ”smartness”.

What do I mean by smartness? According to my paradigm*, it is the collective, still actively participating functions that have evolved throughout the evolution of our brain, i.e. https://www.boaim2.se/innovativm2/some-thought-on-evolution-of-home-sapiens-information-processing/

If we consider what extensive knowledge/experience/… development that has occurred through all the millions of years, and that still stress, including ”brainstem” stress, has a dominant role in our daily lives, reactions that overfly when they turn on, often in humans by ”evolutionary mistakes” it affects our entire information’s processing/thinking/reasoning …

To simplify the really impossible difficult, to have someone ”to go on”, I discuss this based on the concepts of street and book smart, Integration of street and book smart – here out of an evolutionary perspective for effective information processing and developed by problem-solving development and growing with the task | BOAIM2: Bergvik Open Academia for Innovative Medicine Management

How, then, can we make it easier to deal with incomplete knowledge, especially clinically?
1. One way is to try to measure hypothetically important parameters as reliable and valid (especially ecological validity), to increase the understanding of a single individual! The problems here are many, perhaps the most important of which is that ”systems integrate into reality, although it varies within and between people in (often, not always) different situations and overtime”. At the same time, Western medicine assumes a reductionist, and not systems integrate multifaceted! But there are several ways to increase the safety (not completely understood) of psychophysiological measurement parameters, something that is complex and that I will not go into here!

I myself test the ”neurotransmitter pro” that www.gettested.se offer. (As I am planning an epidemiological research project focusing on 70 plus, to get my own data to elaborate on, including my data is representative for 70 plus, so I do can take place as pilot). Why neurotransmitters? Quite simply, that they are often crucial to the general condition as well as many different specific dysfunctions (which clinically may not have identified or even ”suspected”), e.g. as Alzheimer´s disease https://www.mdpi.com/2079-7737/11/12/1822, or low Glutamate, which can have multifaceted consequences.

2. Another way (complementary) is to start from Personalized medicine vs MBiL, the Swedish ”Patient as a reasonable competent educated (by us) resource and coworker in own rehab” | Cultural Medicine and specially the below *

3. The most important, but which will take time to discuss more energetically at all levels = the develop of AI-based multidisciplinary, multifaceted biopsychosocial medicine that meets the needs of individuals´ reality, which they live in and artificial clinical settings.  One major problem is to integrate dual code (Paivio ->, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual-coding_theory) cognitive processing, that is spatial and verbal, both associated with Triune Brain development (https://www.interaction-design.org/literature/article/the-concept-of-the-triune-brain). Can integration of Human and Artificial Intelligence be the forth step? That is an “Artificial Brain” added to the Triune Brain enabling especially understanding spatial and verbal code?  (see also picture at Some Thought on Evolution of Home Sapiens´ dual code information processing .. | BOAIM2: Bergvik Open Academia for Innovative Medicine Management

4. Coming …

Svenska:

För att förenkla det egentligen omöjligt svåra, för att ha någon ”att gå” på, diskuterar jag detta utifrån begreppen street- och book smart, Integration of street and book smart – here out of an evolutionary perspective for effective information processing and developed by problem-solving development and growing with the task | BOAIM2: Bergvik Open Academia for Innovative Medicine Management

2. Ett annat sätt (kompletterande) är att utgå ifrån Personalized medicine vs MBiL, the Swedish “Patient as a reasonable competent educated (by us) resource and coworker in own rehab” | Cultural Medicine and specially the below *
